WOW, the Christmas store is a big hit. We ran out of merchandise after the kg and 1st graders shopped. So tomorrow, Tuesday, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th will get to shop. Wednesday, 4th grade and students who were absent or need to shop again can come to the Christmas store. Wednesday is the last day. It is so exciting to see the young kids, with the help of a high school kid, shopping for their families. BPA and the Caney Leadership Team are enjoying providing this opportunity for our elementary students!!

Atoka Kiamichi Technology Center will visit with Caney sophomores today about enrolling in KTC programs next year. KTC is a great opportunity to learn a skill for a future career. Interested sophomore students will apply beginning in January to attend next year.

CONGRATULATIONS CANEY FCCLA: Caney FCCLA was selected to be one of the 10 teams to participate in the iBuckleUp weBuckleUp NHTSA Summit and 2 year program sponsored by FCCLA. FCCLA was awarded a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to help groups across the United States develop projects that will measure seat belt use, and measure the use of seatbelts after the project. All travel expenses Washington D.C and a per diem was provided by National FCCLA through the grant.

The Caney Junior High Business Team competed in the statewide Biz Kids Competition sponsored by the Weokie Credit Union and the Oklahoma Electric Cooperatives. The Caney Business Team had to develop a business and pitch it to a panel of judges similar to the TV show ,"Shark Tank." The Caney team won Runner-Up ! They were presented with a fancy dinner of their choice and $250. They plan to reinvest their $250 in their next business venture to grow their earnings! CONGRATULATIONS STUDENTS!!

Great job BPA students providing and running the Cougar Christmas store for our elementary students. We sold over 750 items for Christmas presents during our community service project.
Caney School would like to send a Thank You to Vic Cook, Inca Board of Directors Member, for visiting with our 7th-12th grade students about community service. It was a great opportunity for our students to learn about community service opportunities in our county.
